Last week, President Obama announced a proposal that would allow citizens to keep their remaining health insurance coverage for one more year even though it does not necessarily meet the standards as set by the Affordable Care Act. His proposal left the decision up to each state individually. To date, four states have announced that they will not be going through with the Presidents proposal: Washington, Kentucky, Virginia and California. Illinois has not made an official announcement allowing this or not.
